Employment Oriented Skill Development Training Programs

Centre of Excellence in Maritme & Shipbuilding (CEMS) is a skill development initiative by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways promoted by the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) in line with Prime Minister's initiative of Skill India.

CEMS has implemented various CSR & Livelihood Programs and have been able to generate employment to over 500+ youth from the economically weaker and rural sectors of the society. Our sustained effort towards generating employment for the youth from varied background has tremendously resulted in making the youth self sufficient and a contributing/productive member of the society. Apart from the immediate benefits of the program, they have a much deeper impact on society which cannot be quantized in numbers.

The following are some of the programs that
we have implemented to train the youth

DDU-GKY Program

Trained over 300+ Students with over 95% students placed in domains such as welding, CNC, Pneumatics/Hydraulics etc

Rolls-Royce CSR Program for Women

Over 100+ women students trained with more than 80% placed in various domains

Visakhapatnam Port Authority

100+ Students Trained and placed successfully

RINL(Rastriya Ispath Nigam Ltd)

23 Students Trained and placed successfully

Expected Outcome of our CSR Programs

Target Group

The target group should be unemployed youth belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Women/EWS categories within the age group of 18 – 30 years. Priority will be given to the candidates from rural and tribal areas. The proposal for conductng the Skill Development Training programs under Corporate Social Responsibility initatve of Power Finance Corporaton Limited at CEMS, Visakhapatnam for the unemployed youth belonging to underprivileged sectons across the country.

Training Venue

Training shall be conducted at CEMS, Visakhapatnam and/or Mumbai campus and at other extension centres of CEMS. CEMS has an in-house hostel at Vizag for accommodatng 200 students.
