The broad objectives of the program are follows:-

Industry skill development program aims at linking education system to industry. The learning model connects the four spokes of individuals & institutions to industry and knowledge bodies. The Industry – Academia interface helps address short to long term skill development requirements ranging from Design to Manufacturing to Automation to Maintence The industry- Academia interface in conducting both basic and applied researches, the latter of greater interest to industry.

 

The COE would facilitate R&D collaboration to share important innovation skills with
industry that would otherwise be underutilized or streamed into delivering other tasks. The COE may also provide access to developed R&D infrastructure needed for the design and testing of innovation products and processes. In addition, it can provide advice, consultancy and extension services to innovative businesses.
Role of the COE in innovation systems and clusters of knowledge based industries:
1. “Antenna” for adopting external knowledge and mediator for local knowledge
circulation
